Background: In recent years, crisis of water shortage has become a serious problem in many countries. In this regard, the use of treated wastewater in natural or artificial method in agriculture and the like, has been proposed as an important and practical solution. The natural purification method by the use of artificial canebrakes, compared with other methods of treatment is an appropriate method because of its low cost, and also, because of easy navigation, the requirements of low technology and low energy consumption. Several herbs have been used to increase the efficiency canebrakes which including special plants to purify such wastewater is Vetiveria that has unique genetic, morphological and physiological characteristics. Due to the limited knowledge of the plant's industrial wastewater treatment, in this study, a comparison of filterablity of hospital wastewater was done between Vetivaria and bulrush in tropical areas.
Methods: This experimental study was done in 2013 in the hot season, summer. In this study, was made two pilot glass with dimensions of 50*60*100 Cm. A mixture of soil, sand, gravel, clay soil was selected. The irrigation method in this study was subsurface and continuous. First, hospital wastewater via a 220 liter tank as the primary sedimentation retention time and with time of 2 hours entered into bed with a hydraulic retention time of 4 days to discharge 85/0 liters per hour. To evaluate the efficiency of each plant in the treatment of hospital wastewater, chemical parameters including (PH, TP, TN , TSS, BOD5, COD)were measured according to standard methods of measuring. . Analysis of the data was done by the use of t-test and Mann-Whitney and SPSS software.
Results :Based on the finding of this study, percentage of removal parameter(Bod5,Tss,Tn,Tp) by plant Vetiveria was (88.54,95.71,93.93,99.80) and for bulrush was (82.54,91.13,86.64,99.28).
Conclusion: Due to the unique characteristics of Vetiveria, such as high resistance against unfavorable environmental conditions and its higher efficiency than bulrush, this plant is recommended for the treatment of hospital wastewater.

Background and Purpose: Appendicitis is the most common cause of acute abdomen in the world, and like other surgical procedures, the postoperative pain is one of the most common problems. Nowadays people tend to use non-drug methods and alternative medicine for reducing the effects of drug side effects. Reflexology is one of these treatments which can reduce pain and stress by applying pressure on a specialized area of the hands, feet and ears. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Reflexology massage on pain relief after appendectomy surgery.
Materials and Methods: This critical trial study has performed in the emergency department of the Imam Reza Hospital, in Mashhad in 1392. Pain level and analgesic intake of 105 patients were compared in three groups before, immediately, one, six and 24 hours after treatment. In intervention group a specific area in the right leg and Shenman part of the ear was pressed for ten and one minute respectively. In the control group the pressure was applied on the back of left foot and right earlobe. Patients in the control group received only routine care. The results were evaluated at 95% confidence level. Data analysis was performed with SPSS 21 software.
The results: The difference of mean pain level at baseline was not statistically significant in the different groups (P=0/430), but after the reflexology message there was a significant difference between the amount of pain in intervention group compared with two other groups (P≤0/001).
Conclusion: Reflexology is an effective method for pain relief of patients after appendectomy surgery and it is recommended nurses to apply this method for reducing pain of these patients.

Backgound: Neonatal respiratory distress is a main cause of preterm neonatal mortality. Surfactant is one of its standard treatments. The current study was conducted to compare clinical effects of different kinds of surfactant in the treatment of respiratory distress of preterm neonates admitted to NICU of Sabzevar.
Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on the preterm neonates admitted to NICU of Shahid Mobini Hospital of Sabzevar University of Medical Sciences, in 2009-2010. Sample size was 115 neonates at 95% confidence interval. Inclusion criteria were neonates with respiratory distress and 26-37 weeks gestional age who had been treated with surfactant. Exclusion criteria were neonates with 5-min Apgar score less than 7, neonates with major congenital anomalies, or neonates whose mothers received steroids before giving birth. The data were gathered by questionnaire to assess clinical effects of different kinds of surfactant in the treatment of preterm neonatal respiratory distress. The questionnaire was confirmed by content validity and inter-rater reliability (r=0.9). The data were analysed in SPSS software version 20 using descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests including ANOVA and multiple comparisons, kruskalwalis and chi-square.
Results: 41 neonates were allocated in a group with birth weight less than 1500 g and 74 neonates in a group equal or grater than 1500 g. According to the statistical tests, intubation duration in neonates less than 1500 g who received Newfactan was significantly more than the two other drugs (P=0.01). Duration of CPAP in Curosurf group was more than Survanta and Newfactan groups with a significant difference. Time of starting feeding was lesser in neonates who had recieved Survanta than Newfactan. In neonates less than 1500 g, none of the variables had a significant difference after surfactant therapy.
Conclusion: This study showed that Survanta has a better efficacy than Newfactan and Curosurf. But in regard to the importance of applying this drug, and the controversy of results obtained from studies, it is recommended to perform further studies about this issue.

Background and aims: Many patients with chronic renal failure are fatigue due to disease process and long-term treatment with hemodialysis. Because of very different side effects of medication, using complementary methods seems to be reasonable way to reduce fatigue in hemodialysis patients. This study aimed to effect of Benson relaxation on fatigue in hemodialysis patients.
Materials and methods: The present research is an experimental controlled trial study conducted on 65 hemodialysis patients selected from Vasei Sabzevar Educational hospital in 2013. Patients were selected using convenience sampling method according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and then were divided randomly into two groups( 33 patients) in experimental and (32 patients) in control group. The experimental group received Benson relaxation for 15 minute, twice a day during one month. control group received no intervention. Data-collecting instruments included demographic information form and Brief Fatigue Inventory (BFI) questionnaire were completed before, 2 and 4 weeks after intervention. Data were analyzed by means of SPSS-11/5 and SAS 9.1 statistical software using descriptive statistics, T test, Chi-square, Mann-Whitney Test and generalized estimation equations.
Results: Mean score of fatigue in the experimental group was 6/97± 0/84, 5/25± 1/07and 3/92 ± 1/11 before intervention, after two weeks and four weeks later, respectively. Analysis of the data revealed a significant difference between the mean score of fatigue of before and after intervention in the experimental group(P

Background and Purpose :Cost-benefit equations is one of the most important by of GNP and a training a Sustainable development as designated by professionals of occupational health .Therefore ‚ drivers as a forgotten index in sustainable development and its effect on community health.
Methods & Material : This descriptive analytical study involved the statistical community of 55000 vehicles in Sabzenar ‚Iran ‚from which 380 cases were splected by systematic sampling during six months from 17:00 to 20:00‚winter and spring 2011 with a traffic load peak ‚where right – trun violations were recorded at two major crossroads The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS 10.5 using normal Kolmogroff-smironoff and chi-square.
Results: significant relationship was observed between .occupation type and attitude (P=0.013) ‚ occupational history and attitude (P=0.03)‚ as well as residential area and attitude (P=0.011)‚ however‚ no significant relationship was found between age and attitude (P=0.0149)‚ education and attitude (P=0.0118) ‚ at a confidence interval of 95%. Total wasted time per year at a crossroad with three outlets was 1/123/260 hours per year. Given a 4 – cross road typical city in Iran with 340 cities ‚ an estimated 1/527/633/600 hours per year will be wasted. As far as the cost is concerned ‚ the total amount of gas wasted (7000 Rials/litre)will amount to 1/226/534/400 Rials per year in one single cross road in Sabzevar ‚Iran .The same equation applies here to produce a cost estimation of 167/280/000/000 Rials/year nationwide.
Conclusion: Immediate action for geometric correction of crossroads is required for preventing wastage of national resources and imposing economic costs on community members and the wasted time due to abnormal traffic behavior‚ increased GNP and moving toward Sustainable development will follow as a Consequence.

Background: To determine the familial aggregation, Co-aggregation and within person association of myopia and four phenotypes of astigmatism by a conditional model in Tehran Eye Study.
Materials and Methods: Myopia, Total, ATR, WTR and oblique astigmatism were studied through a population based, cross sectional study in 1326 siblings older than 5 years from 531 families with 2-4 siblings using stratified cluster random sampling from August to December 2002 in Tehran Eye Study. Results: Based on the conditional model and via Proc GENMOD SAS 9.1, the conditional odds ratios (95% confidence interval) ,that indicates conditional familial aggregation, for the total, WTR, ATR and oblique astigmatism and myopia were 1.16(1.01-1.33), 1.59(1.17-2.16), 1.77(1.39-2.26), 2.12(1.41-3.19) and 1.96(1.72-2.24), respectively .On the other hand, conditional odds ratios that indicates within person association of two disease, for myopia and WTR, myopia and ATR, myopia and Oblique and at last myopia and total astigmatism were 5.74(3.99-8.17), 3.41(2.01-5.82), 4.6(2.15-9.86) and 6.10(4.76-7.82), respectively. Although no significant familial co-aggregation has been identified. Conclusion: Based on conditional model and after controlling for the confounders, this analysis yielded, a significant aggregation of four phenotypes of astigmatism and myopia, a large within person association and moderate but non-significant co-aggregation of these disorders.

Background and purpose: The role of learner’s strategies and skills in learning a foreign language has been investigated in the three last decades. However, the part it plays in ESP achievement tests is not seriously treated. Therefore, it seemed a good reason to conduct a study on the role of study strategies in successfully taking the final exam.
Methods and Materials: In this quasi-experimental interventionist study, the SILL questionnaire was given to 253 students taking an ESP course (1384-85 / 2005-2006) to identify their use of language learning strategies. A few moments prior to taking their finals, they took Spielberger's anxiety test to estimate their test anxiety.
Results: According to the findings, mean anxiety scores in boys and girls before the final exam were 146.72 and 120.46 respectively, which did not show any significant difference. However, a negative linear relationship was found to exist between SILL score (meta-cognitive strategies in particular) and test anxiety.
Conclusion: Among many other outcomes, test anxiety is attributable to inappropriate study habits in adult ESP learners, which requires consideration by both instructors and textbook compilers.
